Among Project Alba's fundamental observations is the analysis that markets in developing countries are undersupplied in crops that could be grown by small farmers. Our main focus is thus to adapt farmers production to what markets need.

In order to do that, we have now started to gather weekly data on prices and volumes for several crops in several markets in Cambodia.

The goal will be to build up a database that we can use to automatically predict what will be the most profitable crops to grow month by month, and adapt farmers production accordingly.

As usual, we are following the Lean Startup strategy. We are starting small, with just a few crops and a few markets. We are building the processes progressively, and we will gradually add more markets and more crops.
